In China, diamond saw cutting tools have different starting times according to their types. For example, electroplated internal circular cutting saw blades (cutting silicon, germanium, crystal, etc.) and rolling saw blades (used for cutting watch gems) were developed in the 1960s. A saw blade with inserted teeth developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s (for optical glass and geological core cutting); In the early 1970s, it developed and successfully welded circular saw blades, which were mainly used for cutting insulating materials and electric porcelain, and then extended to stone cutting circular saw blades. With the acceleration of China's economic construction and reform and opening up, China has become a large stone production country. According to data statistic stone material output already amounted to 11 million tons of above, stone material consumption already achieved 80 million square metre, already became next only to Italy stone material production and export big country. Since the 1980s, China has introduced more than 400 sets of stone processing production lines from Italy, Japan, Germany and other countries. In order to change the large but not strong situation of China's stone industry and enhance the competitiveness of stone export, in addition to the efforts of the stone industry itself, the diamond industry also has the responsibility to undertake the development of various diamond products for stone processing, especially the sawing tools. Generally speaking, there are the following products:

(1) with the development of special-shaped stone products such as stone parquet and cylindrical curved surface plate, China's special-shaped stone processing machinery has also been developed, such as cylinder saw, beaded rope saw, band saw and water cutting machine, etc., all of which are equipped with diamond tools. In particular, most of the diamond beaded rope is imported. From the perspective of development trend, the multi-rope (10 pieces) diamond beaded rope saw machine is likely to become the big board saw in the future to replace the large sand saw. Therefore, it is one of the important tasks for the super-hard material industry to vigorously develop diamond tools for processing special-shaped stones such as diamond beaded rope saws.

With the improvement of mining technology and the requirement of building on the large scale of decorative plate lumpiness, the amount of diamond row saws used in the production of large marble plate will increase continuously and the quality requirements will also improve. At present, the diameter of the largest circular saw blade in the world has reached more than 5m, but the use shows that the cutting of this kind of large diameter saw blade is not economical, experts generally think that the diameter of circular saw blade is enough to reach 3m.
